THE VILLAGE OF
TAOS SKI VALLEY
AMENDED
ORDINANCE NO. 97-8
AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OF THE MAYOR, MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL AND
MUNICIPAL JUDGE OF THE VILLAGE OF TAOS SKI VALLEY, NEW MEXICO.
BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE VILLAGE OF TAOS SKI VALLEY, NEW MEXICO THAT:
Section
1. Rate.
A.
The compensation of
the governing body of the Village of Taos Ski Valley shall be as follows:
1.
The compensation of
the mayor shall be $837.00 per month.
2.
The compensation of
the councilors shall be $502 per month.
B.
The compensation of
the Municipal Judge shall be $502 per month
Section
2. Implementation. Those members of
the governing body elected to office shall receive compensation as established
in this ordinance upon taking office, as defined in §3-8-33 NMSA 1978. The Municipal Judge shall receive
compensation as established in this ordinance upon taking office as provided by
§35-14-3 NMSA 1979.
Section
3. Expenses. Nothing in this
ordinance shall be construed to prohibit or preclude the payment of per diem
and mileage or actual expenses of elected or appointed officials traveling on
official business of the Village and approved by the governing body.
Section
4. Severability. The provisions of
this ordinance are hereby declared severable, and if Any portion, sentence,
phrase or work thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional or invalid, the
remainder of this ordinance shall continue in force and effect and in
application.
Section
5. Conflicts. Any existing
ordinance of the Village of Taos Ski Valley or any portion thereof which
conflicts with the provisions of this ordinance is hereby repealed to the
extent that it conflicts with this ordinance.
Section
6. Effective Date. After proper
publication as required by state statute, this ordinance shall become effective
on July 1, 1996.
