VILLAGE OF TAOS SKI VALLEY

                                                        RESOLUTION NO. 2007-139

A RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM OF THE NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT

WHEREAS, the Village of Taos Ski Valley is a member and desires to continue participation in the North Central New Mexico Development District (NCNMEDD) which was created on June 27, 1967 by statutory authority of the Joint Powers Agreement Act for the purpose of assisting local governments in developing and implementing Regional Economic Development Programs; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with the Joint Powers Agreement, it is necessary and desirable that reasonable assessments be paid to NCNMEDD for the purpose of participating in private sector, state and federal programs affecting the region; and

WHEREAS, the NCNMEDD has furnished and will continue to furnish technical assistance, project review, in accordance with EO 12372 Intergovernmental Review and Coordination (NMIRC), planning coordination, management and other assistance directed toward implementing and planning community and economic development programs; and

WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Village of Taos Ski Valley to remain a voting member of the District and participate in policy development and administration; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with the Joint Powers Agreement, the Village of Taos Ski Valley desires to continue eligibility for participating localities under Section 302 of the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 as amended or any other federal, state or private sector programs; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Taos Ski Valley elects not to prepare an Annual Report of its own and instead adopts the District’s Annual Report and Overall Economic Development Program as its own to be submitted to any programs that requires it; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Village of Taos Ski Valley that it remain a member of the NCNMEDD and pay its annual assessment for the fiscal year 2007-08 into the treasury of the District the sum of $210.00 as payment for all services rendered by the District during said fiscal year; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village of Taos Ski Valley hereby concurs in the NCNMEDD Annual Report and its current Overall Economic Development Program, such concurrence to be effective until otherwise rescinded, and the District and the state, federal or private programs be notified.
