Come Help Build the Music Stage in the Lower Village
For the 2011 Enchanted Circle Summer Festival, festival grounds planning, outdoor stage design and stage construction management in Kachina were provided by the Enchanted Circle Festival’s General Manager, John Halley of Comet Studios, www.cometstudios.com. The success of last year’s project was made possible by local businesses and volunteers who graciously provided all the necessary materials and labor required to build the stage and related festival grounds.
Our community is creating a second new festival grounds and related stage in the Core Village in the “beach area” near the base of lift 1. This year’s stage is being constructed of local logs and construction rock debris. TSV Inc is providing the stage site, dirt work, stage materials & food. John Halley is providing stage design, stage construction management and volunteer labor. Bill Ingle has volunteered labor & equipment for rock work, Nick & April Bender have donated lodging for stage construction management, the Amizette has donated labor, Mayor King has donated labor for many days, The Village of Taos Ski is donating staff & equipment from Public Works, & Stray Dog has provided beer & nachos.
We need more volunteers
The success of this year’s project will again rely on volunteer support to help build the wood log framing and rock work at the base of the stage. Please join this volunteer effort this week to help complete the stage in time for the this year’s 4th of July celebrations. And don’t forget to come to the 4th of July parade & live music events on Wednesday, July 4 Food starting at about 11 am, parade at 2:00pm, music provided by the Kathy and the Cruisers band starting at 2:30pm and duck race at 3:00pm.
To volunteer your support, please come by and join the stage construction activities between 9am and 5pm DAILY in the “beach area” near Lift 1 or call John Halley at 505.231.1454.
