Draft Community Wildfire Protection Plan
The Village is working with the Firewise Board of Directors in completing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). The CWPP is a long range plan to protect the people, property, and natural resources in the upper Rio Hondo Watershed from the impacts of a devastating forest fire. It is a collaborative effort between the Village, government agencies, and community organizations who all have an interest in protecting the watershed from a forest fire. The CWPP includes recommendations for forest fuel treatments, fire fighter training, public education and outreach, and updates to the Villages ordinances to prevent a fire.
