Mayor’s message to the Village of Taos Ski Valley Community 3/15/20
March 15, 2020
Dear Village of Taos Ski Valley Community,
Unfortunately the ski season has ended abruptly today to protect the community and visitors from the chance of the global virus situation affecting our area. The Governor of Colorado ordered all ski resorts in the state of Colorado to shut down immediately.
The Village will keep residents updated on the local status of the regional confirmed cases. We plan to have Village Staff stagger work days in order to keep social distance in the workplace, but no interruptions of services are planned regarding water, sewer, or road maintenance.
The Village Council will hold a special emergency meeting tomorrow, Monday, March 16th, in the outdoor courtyard of the Edelweiss to vote on an emergency resolution that will allow for any emergency funding if needed. The meeting will be open to the public.
If you are feeling sick or curious about what to do during this coronavirus situation, please see the following numbers and websites to access information.
I hope this global crisis will pass soon so that we can all plan for our summer season.
Sincerely, Christof Brownell
Mayor, Village of Taos Ski Valley
